Teseo & Co and the Down Madrid Foundation
In July 2025, LEDU and Down Madrid launched the academy “Yo tengo opinión”, the first high-performance public speaking centre for young people with intellectual disabilities. Ten participants from various foundations received a week of intensive training at Down Madrid’s Centro 3Olivos, focused on key skills such as oral communication, persuasion, body language and managing nerves. The programme culminated in a speech showcase at the EY headquarters, where they showed their talent to a professional audience and their families.
In this initiative, Teseo & Co is proud to take part as a sponsor, helping to promote labour and social inclusion through the development of power skills.
Stories like those of Agustín and Pablo, who learned to control their gestures and emotions and to express themselves with confidence, are a clear reflection of the academy’s transformative impact. According to Elena Escalona, general director of Down Madrid, the academy teaches not only public speaking but also the confidence for young people to show their identity and be seen as agents of change. Alfonso Rodríguez de Sadia, of LEDU, adds that this project is an extension of the commitment to inclusion that he promotes through the spoken word.
At Teseo & Co we firmly believe in the power of diverse talent and in the importance of creating real opportunities. Collaborations like this one show that good communication can open doors, break stereotypes and build a fairer, more cohesive society.
